Increased demand for affordable manufactured home living for seniors

The LA Times and The Bend Weekly reported this week a growing demand for affordable manufactured home living for seniors. It’s funny reading about mobile homes in Southern California, but, the reasons for people choosing to live in well managed manufactured home communities in Los Angeles and Bend Oregon are exactly the same as they are here in Fairborn.

We closed on a home sale yesterday in Southpoint Village. The home buyer, a single lady, had been looking for a home for months. With her daughters help, they had looked at many houses and even made an offer on a home that was refused. Through it all she just had not found what she was looking for until she got a call from a friend who lives in Southpoint Village. A home had just come up for sale and she wanted her friend to see it. An appointment was made and she visited the home and community. An offer was made and accepted and a closing date was scheduled, all within about a week of seeing the home for the first time.

At the closing, I had the opportunity to speak with the home buyers daughter at length. She shared with me how difficult it had been for her mother to find “just what she was looking for” and how after months of looking, she walked into this three bedroom two bath double wide mobile home and within seconds recognized and found “just what she had been looking for”…how it was going to be the nicest home her mother had ever lived in, how the grandkids would love visits to grandmas’ new home with a big tub and how happy she was for her mother to have found a place to live that seemed to be such a fit and made her so happy she found it.

When you read both these articles, see for yourself what others say about mobile homes and manufactured home communities…You will read things like affordable, large floor plans, energy efficient, lot rent or lot lease, etc. What you won’t read (at least not that often) is what really drives people to live in a community like Park Hills Crossing, Southpoint Village or Red Oak Mobile Home Park and that’s COMMUNITY.

COMMUNITY is being a part of something special, the feeling of connection and belonging with others who share similar characteristics and interests, sharing and participating, fellowship and even an identity.

If you are over 55 and still haven’t found what you’re looking for, there’s a good chance you’ll find it right here in a 55 and over mobile home community in Fairborn, Ohio. Give us a call, we’ll give you everything you need to know about our homes, the lifestyle and our community.
